Hi Clueless, The maximum speakers that you set up with this AV receiver i s 5 speakers and 2 subwoofers. We recommend connecting wired speakers with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms to 16 ohms. The STRDH590 doesn't support a zoning function. Regards, David
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you have ceiling speakers, you will need the Sony 7.2 receiver. It has ports for ceiling speakers. I bought the Sony 5.1 and I have 5 speakers at 240 watts, along with a subwoofer. You will get a microphone that you put at your listening height, and it will calibrate the speakers and subwoofer and give you great sound. Good luck and happy listening.
