QuestionThe manual for this blue ray player says it's compatible with AVCHD format. Can anyone tell me if I have a memory stick with AVCHD videos loaded and I plug it into the USB port, will it read and play the videos? Or will it only play AVCHD from disc? Thx!

- Answer It appears, no. The mention of USB in the manual is: "USB:USB jack Type A (For connecting a USB memory, memory card reader, digital still camera, and digital video camera)** Do not use for power charging purposes." In another section it says the USB can support an HDD. It is unclear if that includes an HDD powered by the USB port. USB use seems to be limited to media devices.

QuestionThe technical specifications show Maximum Video Resolution 1080p. What other resolutions can this player output? I ask because I have an old HDTV that can accept 720p and 1080i, but not 1080p.
