BD players will play DVD as well as BD. BD offers much higher resolution and provides a more realistic viewing experience, especially on HD and 4K TV sets.

Choose a blue ray player, but don’t buy the Sony. The one I purchased broke within a month, and of course Best Buy would do nothing about that. They stated you had to return it within 10 days. Buying an LG. That’s what I replace the Sony with and it works perfectly.
