I bought this, Sony 2 channel receiver and insignia powered bookshelf speakers. Got the receiver cuz the turntable would not play sound through these speakers. Speakers are not working with either set up. What speakers will work with these two? null

We have the speakers connected directly to the turntable without an amp, no problem; the speakers are powered. Not sure what might be going on for you, but good luck!

I also tried speakers, but they would have needed a power booster or something that made them actually work: I returned them to Best Buy and they sold me a soundbar and it works great:
