Absolutely not. the VPCEH14FM/B has an Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N + WiMAX 6150 WLAN card which supports IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4 GHz as well as IEEE 802.16 WiMAX where available. WiMAX technology works in a similar manner to Cell Phone coverage, but can provide near Broadband speeds. WiMAX technology is not exclusive to any one carrier, however, it does require you to be within coverage areas of a special, fixed WiMAX tower. there are several Service Providers that have WiMAX coverage please research locally to determine which carriers have WiMAX in your area.
