“My music playlists are on Windows media Player. Operating system is Microsoft Windows 10 (PC). I understand how to use The USB to the computer but my question is: Do I need any additional software to transfer my playlists from my computer to this MP3?”

• Actually, you do not need the Sony software. You can drag and drop your music files on you PC.

• There is some Sony Software, which is free to download, for transferring the music. It also allows the transfer of iTunes music as well.
