You have to remember that the idea that we consumers would be ok with a charging case and a whole lot less of a battery life per charge was a new concept. Sony comes out with a new model every 2 years so a LOT has changed wth Battery tech in general. We were asking a tiny battery to hang in there being charged to the brim or totally drained and go from that zero to 100% and back starting from any point in between all day long. Two and a half years ago it wasn't just Sony, but I agree it was way more common for Sony's to quit charging pretty early. However, their charging case had some issues where pocket lint would get on the contacts and people would just assume, "looks like it is my 4s, too." and post that on Reddit without even trying a little rubbing alcohol and a Qtip first. I can't tell you how many Apple and Samsungs I have seen get fixed this way. So if the battery craps on you make sure to check that but all the manufactures have been more careful with where they put the contacts.
