Is it the same? No.
Differences: No more aptX support (inc LL/HD).
Bigger earcups, better shaped headrest for better comfort.
Additional functionality - speak to chat, auto pause, etc. Auto pauses when it detects that you've taken it off your head, tones down ANC when speaking detected (does a pretty good job surprisingly!)
More microphones for a better (slightly better over XM3) call quality.
DSEE Extreme (gimmick, rarely used but at least it's an option for poorer quality files)

They are indeed the same price. XM3s may drop in price from retailers (and they have) but the XM4s will retain the original XM3 MSRP.

These are higher rating with QN1 and DSEE extreme software.
