“why is it called a flip case? pics are not very helpful”

• Because you can flip the bottom of the case up. So you can use it on a stand charger, my husband uses it as a stand, to stand up his phone.

• The back and bottom flip up to allow access to the charging/Lightining port if you need to dock the phone or plug in a wide headphone/audio jack.
