looking for a 'tablet' which works on a MAC null

Your best bet will be to stick with an Apple product.

The one i recommend is the i Pad, because you can synchronize your tablet with your mac. for example if you download a song using itunes in your mac it automatically download to your ipad.

The iPad mini 3rd gen or iPad Airs worked great with mine. If you do a document in Pages, Numbers, or Keynote, it will spawn to all your devices either to or from if you have sharing turned on. MS's Office stuff now has free versions for iOS8 as well where you can use OneDrive or Dropbox. You would need to upgrade to Yosemite. Office 2011 for Mac is decent but quirky.
