• yes you can take cash or a check and it will process and also run a drawer tally for the end of the day. square does not charge you for the cash/check transactions. Only those that use a credit card

The new Cash Management feature allows you to input your starting cash each day, track amounts paid in and out and print or email end of day reports.

• Yes you can use the cash option in order to keep accurate report. It also allows you to generate a receipt (by paper, text, email..). You won’t be charged any fees by square for this transaction.
