• If the laptop has a Display Port and the monitor has a DVI port than it shouldn't be an issue. The other way around will not work though.

• The DP2DVI2 is a passive DisplayPort to DVI adapter and will work with any DisplayPort DP++ enabled source to a DVI-D display. As long as the connecting devices utilizes these connections, the DP2DVI2 will work. Atha, StarTech.com Support
