Additionally to my question, TV is hooked up to preamp by digital optical cable. It only will process signals in 5.1 standard, will not recognize dts or atmos. The preamp does not have hdmi it was made before that came out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does. I have the same Roku stick with a 5.1 surround sound sound system. Your choices are to either plug it straight into your receiver, or HDMI input on your TV. If you plug into your TV, you'll need to run a fiber optic sound cable from the TV to your receiver. Like everything else you hooked up to your receiver, you will have to designate the input channel on your receiver to recognize the sound input. Unfortunately it's not a plug-and-play device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes as long as you are connected to hdmi
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have our Roku plugged into the back of our Yamaha receiver (instead of the tv) to use surround sound. Works great. (Not sure if that is helpful to you or not.)
