• I had a bad adaptor cause I plugged it in my pc and it came on, so I tried another adaptor and it worked thank you for all of your advice. no it di not come with an adaptor.

• Should be a single tap to turn it on, and another single tap to turn it off. Mine works totally intuitively, as one would expect. My guess is that you have a defective unit.
