• Don’t even buy this poor quality almost everything near broke. Horrible the tripod can’t stand up a simple I phone x with out tipping over

• The phone holder IS detachable. It unscrews from the ring light. Yes, you can attach the ring light to an existing tripod. It come with two ball heads with a 1/4" screw that will attach to a tripod.
