“Are these needed for the Polk Sub Woofer. I'm not knowledgeable about any of this & I personally don't know what they are really for, please advise? Your answer is greatly appreciated.”

They aren't absolutely needed for any sub really. But they lessen the energy lost from the sub to the floor through vibration. This can lead to walls rattling and so forth. In the end the bass from the sub sounds a little bit better. I'm happy with my purchase.

If you are experiencing a rumbling noise rather than a natural bass sound then these may be a solution. Once I installed them to my subwoofer, there was a noticeable difference for the better. Now I hear natural bass sound instead of that floor rattling unnatural sound
