The cup is top-rack dishwasher safe as is the straw lid. Hand washing can most definitely extend the life of the powder-coat, but it's not required. This is one of the big perks compared to brands that require hand-washing only.

Our lids are top rack dishwasher safe and we encourage you to wash them that way especially if you drink something other than water to keep them mold and germ-free.
