• No, that is an elastic strap to wrap around the front cover to hold it closed as there is no magnet to do that.

• Yes it is. It can be used to keep cover from flopping open and exposing glass screen.

• It’s not a hand strap. The strap wraps around the device to secure it.

• There is a band, it can be used to hold case or pulled over case to secure it closed.

• The strap seen on the back of the case in some photos is not meant as a hand strap. This strap is to assist with closing the case and keeping it closed when the iPad is not in use.
