It is not as well padded as others i have owned, more of a way to carry it than a protector

As someone who falls frequently and has problems with dropping things, yes it is padded. It also comes with a strap you can put over your shoulder or across your chest. I would not recommend throwing a laptop no matter what it is in; however, I believe this Targus bag can handle most types of drops. My past experience with Targus bags is why I was willing to buy it for my laptop.

It is sufficient for small drops but it is not a hard shell. A drop from sufficient height on a hard surface will still be hard on the computer.

If you are worried about drop protection, i would go with a hardshell case. This is a soft shell case.

My daughter is in HS and uses this bag. It is a padded case. It was not designed with a hard shell surrounded by padding.

I think the case is pretty padded. Not like insanely padded to the point where it’s cumbersom, but padded enough that it should protect the computer. It’s overall a great case.

I travel all-over the country I have had no problems I haven't actually dropped it but I have bumped it and had no problems
