How do you measure computer for a brief case? null

I took my laptop in, only because I wanted to see the bag was roomy enough to hold cables also Get a tape measure; with the laptop closed measure Across the top, then take your second measurement from the top to bottom.

Easiest way to find a case to fit comp is to take the system with you. Otherwise...measure width, length and depth. Need to know width and length the most.

Close the laptop and measure diagonally, from the longest ends.

Corner to corner diagonal across the screen!

Close the screen and measure diagonally from one end to the other.

The computer size is measured diagonally. Once you know the size, you may want to add a few inches for space.

I was buying a hard cover for my Mac so I just put that cover inside the case and that was it.
