Really depends on the source. 480i of course looks bad and probably will on any TV. Youtube TV has most channels claiming to be 1080P (even though their native source is 1080i or 720p) are hit and miss. Some look ok and some don't. It was the same when I had satellite so I don't blame Youtube. Everything on Amazon Prime looks great (yes, some are 4K). Hulu, CBS All Access and Showtime are all very good. Sling is about the same as Youtube. OTA for the most part is fine, unless again, it's in 480i. My DVD's look better than my old TV. I don't have Netflix but with them the more you pay the better you'll get. Sometimes you need to play around with the picture settings and picture mode (Normal, Sports, Vivid options etc). I've got mine dialed in were I don't really mess with it much anymore. Once you adjust your settings for a particular input (DVD, streaming, game console, etc.) those settings will always remain unless changed or you can revert back to the default. I do suffer from black crush (if you don't know what it is look it up) but it doesn't bother me. I'd rather have dark blacks than not. If you have a device, like a cable box or AV receiver, that up-converts to 4K turn it's setting to OFF. Let the TV do it on it's own. All in all it does a better job than my Samsung Plasma did.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This TV typically produces a great pictures and does a great job upscaling non-4K content. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
