• I guess that there is no textured backing but I’m my opinion this case is grippy enough to keep from slipping out of your hands or pockets.

• The back is flat. No ribbed backing to stop it from slipping. It is rubbery so it doesn’t slip.

• It means that the edges of the case are not textured. Even though it says non slip, the phone will rarely slip out of your hand or pocket.

• There are other cases that have a “stickier” grip than this one. But it’s not slick in my opinion and I tried 5 other cases before going back and getting this one (used one on my old phone for a few years with no issues).
