A:AnswerYes it can be played as single player. You will see other players who may come along and help you fight a monster but you will still be basically on your own. There are lands in the game which you can go to an join legions if you like. You can also talk to other players and make friends throughout the game but this is not required. I don't engage with other players, I just play on my own and explore what I want. Keep in mind you need the base game of Elder Scrolls online to play Elsweyr.
