No "on" indicator lights. There is a toggle switch on the front knob panel that must be physically flipped on or off. The bright, white light panel is tucked neatly under the front lip edge and shines down rather brightly on the knobs. You may already know that two of the burners have an extra low setting. What I realized only after install, is that these burners will actually turn themselves off for about 20 seconds and then back on. This extra low setting is "insurance" against scorching. There is no light, but you will hear the periodic click of the re-ignition. Thats a heck of a reminder that something's on, though I have not found it to be an annoyance. Maybe one day each of the burners will be outfitted with a timer! Hope this helps.
