No, it’s still very lightweight but offers somewhat of a hard shell cover. We use it for a chrome book and it’s ideal.

It is not too bulky. My 13 year old daughter carries it around at school and it must be in the case. She loves it and the case is very durable.

Not at all. This case is rugged, but by no means bulky. Sturdy without being too cumbersome. It's a great case.
