Depending on how long he’s had it, the tile app should offer to send you a replacement battery. I got my first one a year ago and that’s what happened to me. I’d recommend reaching out to the tile people.

The battery is estimated to last one year. It may be time to replace the tile with a new tile if the battery is dead. It should say in the Tile app if the batter is low or if its time to replace the tile.
