“3 part question: Does Blue tooth need to be on continuously or just turn it on when you want to locate the tile? Also, do you need to have your location turned on? What happens if the app gets closed or you need to restart your phone? Thank you!”

You can turn the bluetooth on when you want to find the tile. My wife turns off her bluetooth quite often, but she has to turn it on when she finds the tile. It does require your location services to be on. If you have to turn off your phone, it should still work once you turn it back on.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your phone doesn't necessarily have to be on bluetooth 24/7 to locate. You can turn bluetooth on your phone when needed. When your tile is activated it's bluetooth is on until it dies. I believe it's active for 3 yrs. It will tell you to replace your tile when it's life is almost over. To locate your tile your bluetooth has to be on to locate it. Hope this helps.

So long you have background app refresh (or whatever the function is called on android) the location of your stuff will continuously update in the background.
