The Roamie has 3 times the storage capacity and can record 6 shows versus 4. I find that the Bolt with OTA channels recording 4 is fine but the recording capacity was an issue so I had to purchase an external storage device for another $150. So if you watch a lot of TV go with the Roamie but if 4 channels and 100 hours of HD recording are enough go with the Bolt. Another difference is the Bolt is 4K ready but not a lot of TV in 4K yet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Bolt is the newest version and has 4K streaming available as well as more built in apps. The Roamio pro has 6 tuners compared to the Bolt's 4 but I suspect the Roamio will be phased out.

I tend to jump every other model, so for me going from the Premiere series the Bolt is a major change. You should be able to do a side by side comparison from the web. The bolt is nice because they now give you a 1 year free subscription of service.
