The TV says 720 but the TV does not have its on native specs. If it did, it wouldn’t read what’s being sent to it and display it. It would simply display 720 permanently. If this TV is hooked up to 1080p it will actually try to upscale from 720p to 1080p which is ok but not the best. It should be locked to 720 because people who can tell the difference sees it clearly trying to upscale from 720 because whatever device it’s hooked up to is pushing 1080. So To answer your question the TV is 720p with upscale ability to make 720p look like 1080p to look good enough or better than 720p.
