• The included remote has Alexa built-in. You cannot control the TV from another location.

• This is a great TV, but unless your mom is really technically savvy, I am not sure I would recommend it. You can set it up to work with a simple cable remote, but one mistake changing the input can really make it difficult. I would perhaps recommend a simpler TV that is not "Smart." Best Buy has some.
