A:AnswerYes though it is not terribly stout ( solid base ). Ended up buying the right size screws for my mount (Ace Hardware- it takes a very specific size. I googled to get the conversion ), and I donated the base stand.
Otherwise I would find a better stand or be very careful not to jostle your new tv.

A:AnswerYes there is . I just connected my tv to my stereo last week . It is small with a built in cover . A light would be helpfull , I couldn't find it without a light . You might have to enter the sound menu to make the final connection if it doesn't connect automaticly .
