“I can't copy my documents and things from my Mac to the Toshiba external hard drive. What am I missing? The hard drive comes with a Software offer.hta. When I click on it, I'm directed to the app store to find an application with which I can open that document. Is that something I need to do prior to copying things from my Mac to the Toshiba external hard drive? Thanks!!”

It needs to be formatted to mac Go to utilities in applications. Go to disc utility. Click on the HD symbol of the Toshiba HD. Click on the RAID button. Click on format and make it MS DOS (FAT). Name your drive in the panel above. Now go to erase. Title the HD again and click erase. It'll take 30-40 seconds and it'll be ready to copy onto and work with.

The drive itself can be used on a Mac but would require reformatting to do so. Please see the instructions for Mac on how to reformat the drive.
