My son is telling me to find him a gaming headset where he can adjust the voice chat volume on teh headset or on the cable. He doesn't want to have to go into the settings every time he wants to raise or lower chat volume. Can the headset do this? Thanks! null

Please know that independent game and chat volume controls would only be provided when the Stealth 700 GEN 2 MAX for Xbox was being used on an Xbox console with the headset in Xbox mode.

When the Stealth 700 GEN 2 MAX for Xbox's transmitter is in the USB Mode, and is being used with a PlayStation console, PC, or Nintendo Switch in docked mode, there is no way to assign the Lower Volume Dial to Chat Audio. This would also be applicable to the Stealth 700 GEN 2 for PlayStation, whether it's transmitter is in USB mode or PC mode.

NOTE: When the Stealth 700 GEN 2 MAX for Xbox's transmitter is placed in to USB mode, the headset's lower dial would default to controlling the volume level of the headset's Microphone. When the transmitter is in Xbox mode, the lower dial would default to controlling the volume of Chat Audio.

All in all, there'd be no way to for either headset to provide you with independent game and chat controls on the PlayStation consoles. This is a result of the limitations related to the way those platforms process the audio via USB, and is not related to the headset itself.

It is supposed to be able to do this but the one I just bought is not doing this. I never had any problems with the good ol 99.00 Turtle Beach headset I had before. Tried to spend a little more to get better quality but did not get it. I would just go with the first black or white ones!

Yes...directly under the master volume wheel, there's a second wheel for chat monitoring. You can also configue these setting using the mobile device and pairing the headset via Bluetooth.

Yes, in short, you can either customize the one wheel to control the balance between game and chat audio.  Further, you can control this balance with the control application for iPhone/android.
