The dots are slightly larger than the string light with a frosted opaque look. I personally like the way the dots look. One thing I would note is the wire between the dots is very thin and not well suited to outdoor or rough use. I lost 2 sets this year to broken cables.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wouldn't recommend the dots for a tree. They're built more along the lines of a standard RGB light strip, and aren't particularly long. They'd probably do better in a wreath where you can hide the cables or installed around a doorframe or mantel.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Since there is only 60 or so, we used them on a mini-tree and another strand behind our wall-mounted TV for ambient light. We were thinking of using them to outline the first letter of our last name on a wall, but haven't yet.
