They should have no problem with activating their new phone. Just go to the selection of "does this new phone replace an existing device" and follow the instructions. I have done it quite a few times and it should work OK for them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes they should be able to. If the person's prepaid plan is through VZpay (rather than the card you purchase at a store), then they will need to go to a Verizon store to ensure their plan (and number) are transferred to the new phone.

You can follow the screen instruction or we suggest contacting your carrier for further assistance adding plan on your account. -Mitch
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, yes and no. I like prepaid because it can't be crammed, the bill is the same every month and Verizon has cheap plans for prepaid. Going from a flip to a smart phone can be very frustrating, my 90 yr old aunt uses an old apple that she was given and gets frustrated at times. My husband gets very irritated with all phones and computers. So it depends on their patience level and comfort with tech. This phone is very sensitive and works with swipes, which a flip doesn't. I like it, but it is different than my past few phones. I think my answer is they would like it if they have someone who can help them get comfortable and overcome challenges. In fact, they may love all the things they can do, once comfortable. This morning my 92 yr old neighbor used his ph to lock his car and close his garage, said he loved his smart phone. Good luck, you have a good heart.
