This monitor supports an HDMI and VGA port, so while it could connect to a phone, you would need an adapter. Additionally, it appears the Macbook Air has only Thunderbolt connections so you can use a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter. Aside from the cable, you would need to connect the monitor to power.
