This echo effect is a very common situation to happen when audio is traveling through both the TV speakers and the connected sound bar. When this happens, it is recommended to turn off your TV's internal speakers.

Thanks.  We did finally figure that out (we're new to soundbars).  It threw us for a while because the first few things we listened to had no delays between the TV speakers and the soundbar.
