If the TV is connected to a network, by default the TV will power on to the VIZIO SmartCast input. However within the TV menu you can change this setting to have the TV boot to the input of your choosing, in this case, the antenna. The TV will then power back on to the antenna after being powered off. If the TV is not connected to a network you will not have to choose, and the TV will remain on the antenna input after power off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This Vizio 24" TV has 2 ways to watch TV channel programming. First way is to use the WIFI and stream watch free TV 250 free channels to stream. If you do not have a WIFI modem with internet access, you can hook up a amplified HD antenna to the RF port. If you live in a large city the free air or Over The Air -OTA signals get picked up for all local channels. When I hooked mine up it found 134 free air channels. To see these channels you press home input when the screen comes up on a timer and will disapear if not used in about 5 seconds, you need to press home input and scroll down to the bottom OTA channels ( the last input) and press select before it times out. This is the way to select free OTA channels then you can direct input with the channel number into the remote each channel you want to watch or scan through all channels one at a time. This remote does have the numbered key pad for direct input. Have fun this is a great little TV !

Today I just reset it to FACTORY settings and plan on continuing to use the ANTENNA and also plan to use a STICK to manage streaming. What I love about this TV is the picture quality. For its small size (24") it has 1020P resolution which gives a beautiful picture. What I don't like is that it defaults to "LIVE STREAMING" and creates too many steps to just watch plain old ANTENNA over the air TV. I am making my change today - to disconnect it from the internet - so the default will be OTA - and will plug in the streaming device I used before via the HDMI outlet. I don't want a TV that forces the use of *STREAMING* LIVE TV when it just ramps up the bandwidth use in our household for no good reason. What really inspired the change also is that the TV seems to have a problem connecting with the internet these last few days... and because of it's push to use bandwidth, it is blocking easy access to the antenna channels. I can HEAR antenna TV with this connection issue, but I can't SEE it now. It's much easier to just keep it as an ANTENNA TV and plug in a stick or other streaming device that will give you easier control of how your bandwidth is used. For a minute I was considering taking it back to exchange for a dumb TV but the only one available has 720P resolution... and again on this TV one of my deciding factors to buy it was the improved resolution for those times that I do plan to watch a streaming channel. In my reboot to make this a dumb TV I did not accept the terms of service moving forward. I don't know why the TV stopped connecting to the internet but I see it as a blessing in disguise.
