Does the remote have a back light on display? null

The remote does not have back lighting on it.

It has a rectangle display screen on the top but the buttons do not light up or have a back light on the remote.

Yes, the display is blue back lit on the text at top of remote. However, the buttons are not back lit. You will still need lighting to see buttons you are pushing.
