What does open box mean? null

Tv taken out its box and on display in store.

Just the box had been opened for some reason or another, my tv was in excellent shape

It means that someone bought the item and didn't like it for some reason and they returned it.

Open box items are more likely customer returns that cannot be sold as 'brand new' anymore. These items are inspected, cleaned, and sold at a discount.
