Here is a chat I had with Vizio chat support: ( 5m 6s ) jonb: I was reading reviews and Q&As about the M70-D3. On Best Buy's website there is a Q&A where someone stated that, because the tablet that comes with this TV is only 720p, you cannot cast 4K content from it to the TV, and you need another device capable of 4K to do it. is that true? ( 5m 40s ) VIZIO: You can cast 4k content from any tablet or phone as the resolution of the tablet does not matter.

The Monitor simply plays what on the remote. Say you are watching Hulu on the remote and there is some lag or pix-elation then that's what you will so on the Monitor. The other HUGE issue is the Android remote is only 720P. So if you want to watch House of Cards on Netflix in 4K you will need another device capable of 4K to cast to the Monitor.
