The Vizio performs better at this lower level than just about any other 70" TV. The weakness is Smartcast but you don't have to use it.

I got rid of cable to just stream on the Vizio and the smart cast hardly ever works this started about 5 to 6 weeks after i bought it. I have reset it back to factory specs 3 times with no luck. I would not recommend this tv to anyone. I read the great reviews on it before i bought it and i would have had the same great review if i would have written it when i first bought it. I have come to the conclusion that most of the reviews you are reading are from people who just took it out of the box and have not really used it yet or owned it for any length of time. As for comparing it to an lg i have no knowledge of lg. As far back as i can remember lg and Vizio were the low end TVs you bought at Kmart and you steared clear of them. The only reason i bought the Vizio was it was a 70” tv for about 900 bucks and had great reviews. You have heard the adage “ you get what you pay for “ i should have spent the extra 500 bucks and gotten the samsung like i was going to. I have had great luck with them in the past and currently and they seem to last forever. Instead i have a 70” vizio that only turns on When it wants too
