During the TV set up when you connect to wifi it automatically updates to the latest firmware and all other updates including HDR 10, so no PC/laptop required.

Easiest way to update is to have the tv/tablet/phone on the same WIFI network to receive updates. No need for a separate computer.

Not sure about HDR 10 update specifically, but the TV will update by connecting to your home WIFI or ethernet connection. The home WIFI is connected through the tablet when you pair it up. Otherwise, connect to the internet by ethernet cable. No other computer is required.

According to https://support.vizio.com/s/article/Firmware-Information-215 - The firmware on your SmartCast Home Theater Display will automatically update the first time you connect your Home Theater Display to the internet. If a subsequent update is sent out the Display will automatically download it when the Display is powered off and once downloaded, will automatically install it. After your Display has updated, you will receive a message the first time you power it on saying a new update has been installed.
