Jill - The accessory handsets that you add an existing system come with a charger that is smaller than the base that comes with your system. The handset charger connects to AC power, but not the phone line. To advise you on which accessory handset to buy, we would need the model # of the system you have or wish to purchase. Thanks!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The main base is larger (51/4' X 4') than the small charge base (31/2' X 3')., phone is expandable up to 5 handsets, the expandable handset you would purchase is the CS6709. The phone comes with 2 handsets including base. Hope this helps.
