I would say yes. I have this for my child but when I got a job sitting with an elderly lady I decided to take it with me so that if I was in the laundry room (which was in her garage) or wanted to walk outside and still hear her if she called for me. It was sooo much more convenient on the days that she just needed to know someone was there. She had Alzheimer’s and so sometimes would forget and it was better to be able to say “I am washing be there in 5” rather than her just screaming and being worried if anyone was even there or not. Assuming the range it reached I would say absolutely it would work thru a window. One monitor doesn’t have to have a button pressed it always transmits sound to the other and the parent one has a button on the side you press when talking as long as you are okay with that I say this would be perfect!
