A:AnswerThis monitoring set has two 'parent' devices, where you can hear the monitoring device. It has adjustable volume and can place the parent devices in any room because they will 'link' up to the monitoring device once turned on. I have one in my bedroom and dining/living area.
A:Answerin my set of 3, the "Parent" unit is plugged. The "Parent" unit is the one you have in the baby's room, or in my case the laundry room.
The other 2 units, or the monitors, have batteries. You are supposed to leave them plugged in routinely, but you can unplug them and carry them outside, to a different room, etc. Just remember to plug them back in when you are done.

A:AnswerWe use it as a one way communication tool with my dad. We can hear him, but he cannot hear us. We leave the base with him and he can let us know if he needs anything simply by speaking. We are unaware if there is a talk back type feature. The 2 companion pieces require you to hold down a button in order to speak.
