Your question is over a year old and you probably figured it out on your own, but this came up on the list to answer. So I have a HP Pavilion 15 P000 CTO, I put a 1 TB in it with no problems. Wait, I did have problems tearing down the HP, they tend to hide screws on you. It wouldn't hurt to call HP Customer Support and ask them about your specific model number.
