“Will this work on a Linux system? I'm using a QNAP NAS system and need to plug this into it to transfer from the QNAP. The QNAP recognizes other ext. HDs but will not recognize the 28TB WD My Book Duo Raid system unless I can format it for Linux.”

I typically remove the partion and do a straight linux partition. But you can mount these type of drives on a Linux system by specifying the disk format in the mount command. For instance mount -t vfat /dev/sdb1 /mnt/d mount -t ntfs /dev/sdb1 /mnt/d The first for a fat formated filesystem The second for a NTFS filesystem
