• Full automatic shutdown: I don't believe so. It does go into a power save state when inactive, with auto wake-up when you access it on the pc it is plugged into.

• It’s up to the host device to put it to sleep or unmount it. If it’s not connected to data, it should turn off the drive.

• Hi. Yes, it powers on and off based on your computer. If you don’t want it on while you’re using your computer, on a MAC you simply EJECT it.
