Hi mike, Please be informed that the WD Easystore drive is a plug 'n' play device and is both USB 3.0 ready and USB 2.0 compatible. It comes with USB 3.0 Type-A cable. We recommend you to contact your host device support to check whether the drive will fit and support the devoice. To know more about the drive please refer to the link: http://products.wdc.com/library/AAG/ENG/4078-705145.pdf -Need Help? Please see our "'Contact Us" page for information.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have both the 2 and 4 Of this model and we use them as the extended storage for our PS4's video games. The wD EasyStore is a very good hardrive! Fast, Durable and highly dependable but video games are like 40 to 100 gigs these days, seems a bit aggressive for movies which are tiny in comparison. Ii would think a memory card would make more sense and your dish box might have a memory slot for this very purpose whereas I'm not sure of the dish boxes capabilities which is what matters. Hard drives just store, it's the device that has to direct the information to the drive not the other way around. Also it's a USB connection and you would also have to make sure the USB inputs on your box are for data purposes and not just to charge up things. I hope this helped a bit and if not I hope it didn't put you to sleep. Good luck!
